Emmanuelle, interpreter of the credits of the series "First kisses", is dead

The singer Emmanuelle, interpreter of the credits of the hit series First Kisses in the 1990s, died at the age of 59, producer Jean-Luc Azoulay announced on Wednesday March 22.

Emmanuelle Mottaz, her real name, was part of the galaxy AB Productions, a company owned by Mr. Azoulay. This company then dominated the sector of programs for children and teenagers, with "Le Club Dorothée" or series like First kisses and Hélène and the boys, all broadcast on TF1.

According to Mr. Azoulay, Emmanuelle died on March 16 in a Paris hospital. “She had been in fragile health for some time. She was a real artist, a wonderful girl. She was a singer and screenwriter for “Hélène et les Garçons” in particular. We are very sad,” the producer told Agence France-Presse (AFP).

"First Kiss" sold 700,000 copies

After having accompanied Dorothée on the song Allô allô monsieur l'informatique (she was the robotic voice of the computer), Emmanuelle had known success in solo in 1986 with the title First kiss, also released by AB Productions.

This bluette modeled on the slows of the 1960s had sold 700,000 copies and had reached second place in the Top 50. The song was then taken up as the credits of the series First Kisses, broadcast from 1991 to 1995.

In 1987, Emmanuelle had again found success with the song Nothing but you to put me to sleep. Subsequently, her singing career stalled and she turned to writing screenplays for AB Productions, then directing short films and photography.
