Empresas Page secures a billion-dollar investment from Meta in Talavera

Talavera de la Reina will be the headquarters of the Meta Data Campus, the largest technological multinational in the world, parent company of Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger. This Friday the declaration of Project of Singular Interest of this initiative will be published in the Official Gazette of Castilla-La Mancha. The president of the Community, Emiliano García-Page, thus manages to attract an investment for his region that exceeds one billion euros and that will have a direct employment impact of 800 jobs.

The object of the project is the development of a Data Center that will be installed on a plot of 191 hectares of industrial land in Torrehierro (Talavera de la Reina). The Center will house Meta's operations and information technology equipment, employed for the digital production, processing and storage of data that will be provided through the company's applications.

The project, which represents a significant expansion of Meta's presence in Europe, obtained the declaration of Regional Interest by agreement of the Governing Council of the Castilian La Mancha Junta last June.

The estimated total investment is 1,010 million euros, of which 911 will be allocated to the construction of the complex that will make up the Campus. The work as a whole will be developed in a maximum period of ten years.

The Data Center will consist of a set of permanent buildings with a total buildable area of ​​130,000 square meters. The two largest will house computer services, content production equipment and digital services and data storage, and will be complemented by others for offices, security, administrative, logistical and maintenance support.
