The sudden death of Aaron Carter triggers a wave of grief. Among other things, his former partner Hilary Duff says goodbye on social media: "My teenager – I loved you very much."

The shock and grief at Aaron Carter's sudden death is deep. The US singer and brother of Backstreet Boy star Nick Carter was found dead in the bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California on Saturday. The singer was only 34 years old. Now numerous celebrities from the international music scene are saying goodbye to the former teenage star.

The boy band New Kids on the Block also speaks up. The pop group temporarily reunited with the Backstreet Boys in the 2010s, with whom Aaron Carter was also touring at the time. His girlfriend and his son's mother had a particularly bizarre reaction to Carter's death. In a live clip, Melanie Martin showed herself sobbing while driving on Tiktok.

The exact circumstances of the death are still unclear. Carter had struggled with mental health issues as well as medication and drug addiction on and off since his early fame.
