Ex-"Navy CIS" star on trauma: Pauley Perrette: "Yes, I'm still here"

A year ago, the US actress, who played the popular character Abby Sciuto in "Navy CIS" for years, suffered a stroke. She takes this as an opportunity to talk about her current well-being - and about numerous other traumas in the course of her life.

Former 'Navy CISI' actress Pauley Perrette has given fans an update on her health a year after suffering a stroke. The 53-year-old - who played popular character Abby Sciuto on the TV series for around 15 years before quitting in 2018 - explained on Twitter that she was a "survivor."

In a video she posted on Twitter, she also wrote that it was the anniversary of her stroke: "And I'm still here." She also explained in the video: "Yes, I'm still here, again. How many times do I cheat death? I almost died from a hair dye allergy. I have food allergies, I've survived domestic violence and rape."

The actress continued, "I was attacked by a crazy homeless person and almost died, and I'm still here. I'm really thankful, especially for all my rescue dogs that are over there."

Perrette added, "A year ago I had a massive stroke. Before that I lost so many loved ones family and friends, and daddy and then cousin Wayne." Nevertheless, she was "still so grateful, still so full of faith".

In "Navy CIS" Perrette played the forensic expert Abby, who not only has a good nose and is technically adept, but also speaks sign language in addition to a foreign language. She is also known for wearing gothic clothes to her work. After leaving Navy CIS, the actress landed a starring role in 2019's Broke alongside Jaime Camil and Natasha Leggero. The series ran for a 13-episode season in 2020.
