Fear of distortion: Jane Fonda on facelifts: "It can be addictive"

Actress Jane Fonda is already 84 years old and a role model for many. Because in contrast to some women of the same age, she has remained active, does sports every day and feels fit even in her old age. "I want young people to stop being afraid of getting old. What matters is not age, not this chronological number. What matters is your health," said the actress in an interview with Vogue magazine.

The Oscar winner is grateful that she can still enjoy good health at her age. But the actress wasn't always in tune with her aging looks. So she spoke openly about her previous facelift: "I had a facelift and stopped it because I don't want to look distorted. I'm not proud that I had one," said the 84-year-old. However, she said to herself after the procedure: "It can be addictive. Don't do it again. A lot of women out there are addicted to it," says Fonda.

Every day, the creator of home aerobics classes in the 80s is grateful for her level of fitness: "Every day when I get out of a car, I thank God that I have strong thighs and above all that I have continued to train to... to keep strong thighs," said Jane Fonda in an interview for Glamor magazine. Jane Fonda released her very first workout video in 1982, which became the best-selling VHS of the 20th century.

Fonda also shared beautiful wisdom about aging as such with the fashion magazine: "As you get older, you realize that staying healthy makes you really happy. It's something that doesn't happen chronologically in life. You can start at 84 be very old, that's my age, but you can also be very young." As the saying goes: He who rests, rusts - Jane Fonda proves that every day anew.
