Fear of second Diana ?: Harry accuses father Charles of being jealous of Meghan

More and more details are becoming known from Prince Harry's scandal memoirs: His father Charles allegedly feared that Duchess Meghan could "dominate the monarchy" – just like his late wife Princess Diana once did. And the king is also said to have been jealous of Harry's sister-in-law, Princess Kate.

Prince Harry has reportedly accused his father Charles of being jealous of the public attention his wife Meghan and sister-in-law Kate have been getting. Charles feared the "new and bright" American actress would steal the limelight from him, Harry writes in his memoir "Spare" ("Reserve"). The autobiography is scheduled to appear on January 10, but has already been available in bookstores in Spain. Since then, British media have published spicy details from it.

His father had "experienced this before and had no interest in it happening to him again," Harry writes, referring to the popularity of his late mother, Princess Diana. Jealousy is also the reason his father said he had "no money left" to support Harry and his wife Meghan financially.

In addition, Charles Harry has forbidden to bring Meghan to Queen Elizabeth II's deathbed. Meghan was not welcome in Balmoral, Harry claims in his book. When the Queen died at her estate in Scotland on September 8, Harry came there alone - on direct instructions from Charles, as Harry now claims in his book, according to the "Daily Mail". His father therefore explained to him that he should not bring Meghan with him. Prince Harry, who arrived in Balmoral after the monarch's death, also writes that he learned of the Queen's passing through the BBC news website.

In "Spare," Prince Harry also accused his father of being concerned about Meghan stealing the spotlight from him, according to The Telegraph. Charles feared that Meghan had the potential to "dominate the monarchy" and become a second Diana for the public and press.

Charles was also said to have been jealous of the attention William and Kate received, according to the prince. "Willy did everything he (Charles) wanted and sometimes he didn't want him to do much because my father and Camilla didn't like it when William and Kate got too much publicity," the Telegraph quoted as saying Memoirs. At one point, his dad's staff made sure Kate wasn't photographed holding a tennis racket at an event because "that kind of photo would have pushed Dad and Camilla off every front page."
