Canadian actor Ryan Gosling says he was immediately blown away by his appearance as Ken in the new Barbie movie. When he saw himself in the role for the first time, he thought: "Finally, finally it's happening," he told the industry magazine "Variety". "It's been going on all my life." The first pictures from the film set, showing Gosling with tanned skin and platinum blonde hair, were published online in June.
"I felt like I saw myself," Gosling said of his role. "I felt seen. And I think a lot of Kens will feel represented when they see that." He does it "for the Kens of this world".
At the end of June there was a first taste of the "Barbie
Warner Bros. Pictures announced the film's release in summer 2023. In addition to Robbie and Gosling, there will be plenty of other stars in it. Will Ferrell, Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Michael Cera and Simu Liu are among the cast. The script was written by Greta Gerwig and her partner Noah Baumbach. Gerwig also directs.
Ryan Gosling will soon be seen in a completely different role. A new action movie by the Russo brothers starring him hits Netflix on July 22nd. In "The Gray Man" the 41-year-old plays a contract killer who has a special job to do and lets it rip.
