He's king of the jungle. And of course also eternal "superstar" of the heart. Now Menderes Bagci is said to be aiming for another triumph. He is traded as a participant in the upcoming season of "Celebrity Big Brother".
The tenth season of "Celebrity Big Brother" is in the starting blocks. And the first participant in the container show this year may have leaked out: Menderes Bagci. In any case, the "Bild" newspaper wants to know that the 37-year-old is part of the Sat.1 format.
As is usual with revelations of this kind on reality TV shows, the whole thing is of course not official yet. Sat.1 itself has not yet commented on possible candidates.
What is certain is that the celebrities can be observed by "Big Brother" on camera 24 hours a day as usual and face daily challenges. Whoever leaves the show as the last or last and thus scoops victory wins 100,000 euros.
The show will again be moderated by Marlene Lufen and Jochen Schropp live from Cologne. To mark its tenth anniversary, the format is celebrating a special premiere: the show will be broadcast in winter for the first time.
With the start date on November 18, those responsible are taking a special risk. Only two days later, the soccer World Cup kicks off in Qatar. If "Celebrity Big Brother" is broadcast parallel to the games in the desert state, the program is threatened with ratings disaster. Because despite all the criticism of hosting the World Cup in Qatar - the sporting event is likely to captivate many spectators.
The environment in which "Celebrity Big Brother" is set this year should also be taken up thematically. It was already known a few days ago that the show's motto this time should be "soccer". Accordingly, a kind of mini stadium for the celebrities was built in the container. While some live in the home team's luxurious cabins, others have to live in the sparse quarters of the visiting team.
Meanwhile, Menderes Bagci is already very familiar with deprivation. After all, for many years he was a permanent candidate for "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (DSDS) - without any chance of winning. Even when he took part in the RTL jungle camp in 2016, he had to deal with a number of shortages. But: His persistence made him the unofficial "superstar" of the heart at DSDS. And his lovable nature gave him "I'm a star – get me out of here!" then even the official title of jungle king. Maybe he can now repeat this triumph with "Celebrity Big Brother".
