For Jennifer Lopez, it's a summer of love — and her butt cream

What is she wearing, what does she look like, what happens next? Jennifer Lopez is experiencing a renaissance of attention. She's currently in Paris, serving up honeymoon look after honeymoon look. For the singer, the events in recent years have really rolled over. From the new, old love with Ben Affleck, to the bikini birthday photo for her 52nd birthday last year, to a Netflix documentary that puts her in a different light. And now followed what had to follow in Lopez's case: a cream for the bottom.

(Former) icons such as Mariah Carey have been making waves with diva performances – most recently with pictures from her vacation in Capri, where she went swimming in the sea in a sequined evening dress. But with Jennifer Lopez, who recently celebrated her 53rd birthday, the impression is created once again: she is actually still "Jenny from the Block".

The singer's appearance is still one of her trademarks to this day, and her backside has often been a topic of conversation. Particular interest has been shown in her appearance since she joined the circle of 50-year-olds. For Versace's Spring/Summer 2020 collection, Lopez walked the runway in Milan wearing a dress that made her a legend 19 years earlier: the 'Jungle Dress'. At that time, it is said to have been searched for so often on the Internet that Google introduced image search. Last year she shared photos on Instagram in which she proudly presented what it can mean to be 52 years old. She posed in a bikini and kimono by Valentino, Gucci espadrilles and with visible abs on a yacht.

At the beginning of 2021, Lopez launched her own "JLo Beauty" care line, which she expanded a few days ago for her 53rd birthday. On Instagram, she shared a video in which she announced a cream for her buttocks, partly naked, partly lightly clothed. She wrote: "We give all this care and attention to the skin of the face, but sometimes we neglect the body. Developing a skincare routine for the body that addresses its specific and unique needs was important to me, and we started with the butt!”

Targeted Booty Balm is a clinically tested, highly effective formula that visibly firms skin, hydrates and erases stretch marks for a smoother, more refined looking booty. According to information from "JLo Beauty", a clinical study would have shown a measurable improvement in skin elasticity in 74 percent of the participants. The result was based on the perceptions of 34 women aged 27 to 63 during an eight-week study. It has not yet been scientifically proven that anti-cellulite creams actually work, even though researchers have been conducting clinical studies to reduce weak connective tissue for years.

The excitement ran high when Lopez and Affleck were spotted together again in 2021. The 49-year-old actor and the singer were a couple from 2002 to 2004 and were christened "Bennifer" by the media. It took nearly 20 years and one failed marriage each (Lopez was also divorced twice prior to her first relationship with Affleck) before fate brought the two back together. A love story like something out of a comedy film – by the way, during their relationship, the two starred in two love films, in 2003 and 2004.

What makes this love story so special? Is it the "happy ending" that everyone secretly desires - and that every romantic film has to offer? They come together, then a dramatic turn. Although it's clear that the script will reunite the two at the end, you're stuck in front of the screen until the end of And They Lived Happily Ever After. Lopez and Affleck's reunion gives hope that love can be given a second chance.

“Bennifer” have been engaged since April of this year – and also for the second time. Lopez received his first ring in 2002, with the wedding set to follow in 2003, but a joint statement said at the time: "Due to the excessive media interest in our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date. When we seriously considered hiring three different 'fake brides' in three different locations, we realized something was wrong." The separation followed in early 2004.

Almost 20 years later, the couple left little time for speculation about the planned wedding. A few months after the engagement, Lopez and Affleck spontaneously married, at least publicly, in Las Vegas on July 17.

The couple will be joined on the honeymoon by Lopez's two children, 14-year-old twins Emme Muñiz and Maximilian Muñiz, and Affleck's two daughters, 16-year-old Violet Affleck and 13-year-old Seraphina Affleck. Only his youngest child, 10-year-old Samuel Affleck, does not appear to be traveling with him.

The 53-year-old's outfits in particular are attracting international interest because they are different than usual. Instead of being super sexy, she wears casual floral dresses, simple jeans looks and loose summer dresses. Affleck almost looks like an accessory on her arm.

Another new glimpse into J.Lo's life came with the documentary Halftime, which debuted on Netflix in early June. In addition to a chronological account of her career, the documentary mainly shows the creation of her halftime show during the 54th Super Bowl. Lopez had to share the roughly 14 minutes allotted for the show with singer Shakira. It was the first time that the performance was to be managed by more than one person - the reason for this may have been politically motivated.

Then-US President Donald Trump's opposition to Latino immigrants in the United States came to a head as images of children behind bars circulated around the world. In 2019, the US held a record number of immigrant children in custody, according to a report by the New York news and press agency The Associated Press.

Lopez himself has Puerto Rican roots. Her parents moved to the United States before she was born. Visibly moved by the events, Lopez wanted to use the public eye to make a statement, as she said in an interview for the film. Near the end of the show, several cage-like installations lit up, with children seated inside, including her daughter, who was singing along with Lopez's 1999 hit "Let's Get Loud."

In "Halftime," the singer revealed her frustration with the decision to split the show for the first time. The time was too short for that. "It was an insult to say that it takes two Latinas to do the work that an artist has done in the past," said Benny Medina, Lopez's manager.
