French tacos, a calorie bomb heavier than a burger

Teenagers love it. French tacos have overtaken the burger in the hearts of young people, and sometimes not so young. And yet, it is clearly not better for their health. Quite the contrary. According to a study by the CLCV consumer association, revealed by RTL and Le Parisien on Thursday, May 25, French tacos, which can be found in fast food restaurants as well as kébabiers, contain between 1,600 calories (for smaller) and 2,300 calories (for the XXL format with several meats, fries and sauces).

On a 100 gram serving, a taco is equivalent to a classic burger in terms of energy value, but a taco is often larger and heavier than a burger, so in general it provides almost three times more calories than a burger to the consumer's body.

As a reminder, the amount of calories needed per day for an adult varies according to gender, age, body size and physical activity. On average, the recommended daily allowance for a man is 2,400 to 2,600 calories. For a woman, the range goes down a bit: from 1,800 to 2,200 calories.

Most teens and young people who eat tacos regularly report that it's an inexpensive meal that fills the appetite fairly quickly. They do not say, however, that they feel hungry again more quickly than after a healthy and balanced meal. However, this happens every time with fast sugars.
