From the trial to the concert stage: Johnny Depp rocks in England

For weeks, all eyes have been on Fairfax, Virginia. Here Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard finally accuse each other of the most unbelievable things. The verdict will come soon. But before that, Depp treats himself to a musical break in England.

Just two days after the pleadings in his court case against Amber Heard, Johnny Depp has surprised with a guest appearance in England. On Sunday night, the actor and part-time guitarist took to the stage for a few songs at a Jeff Beck concert in Sheffield. A number of concertgoers recorded the performance in videos and social media posts.

Johnny Depp reportedly backed British rock legend Jeff Beck (The Yardbirds) on a total of three songs. Together, the two sang and performed their version of John Lennon's "Isolation." Beck and Depp released the song as a single in 2020. The duo also dabbled in Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing" and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On."

Johnny Depp has been an avid musician for years. Before his acting career, he aspired to be a rock star. He also stated this in the trial against ex-wife Amber Heard. Only when it didn't really work out as a musician did he accidentally slip into the film business.

Parallel to his cinema career, Depp has already played as a guest musician for various artists. In 2015 he formed the band Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry.

On Friday, the hearing of evidence in the Depp vs. Heard case ended with the lawyers' pleadings. The focus of the process is alleged violence that the former actor couple is said to have done to each other in their relationship. Both accuse each other of defamation before the court in Fairfax, Virginia. The jury has since retired to reach a verdict. It is not yet certain when they will present their decision.
