Groß-Gerau (dpa / lhe) - A young person was hit by a construction train at Groß-Gerau station and slightly injured. As the federal police announced on Tuesday, the 17-year-old wanted to illegally cross the tracks on Monday morning. Even before he went onto the tracks, the youth was hit by a component of the construction site train and injured his leg. He was subsequently taken to the hospital.
According to the investigators, the train driver initiated emergency braking, but was unable to prevent a collision. He and a trainee who was also on the construction site train suffered a shock and were looked after. Train traffic was paralyzed for around an hour.
