Hesse: 180 million euros flow into motorway construction projects

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Around 180 million euros are to flow into motorway construction projects in Hesse this year. The majority of the budget is for the renewal and repair of bridges, as announced by the West branch of the federal Autobahn GmbH on Tuesday. This includes the new construction of the Salzbach Viaduct and the release of the new southern bridge on the Autobahn 66 in Wiesbaden, the Schiersteinerbrücke on the A643 between Wiesbaden and Mainz and the replacement of connecting ramps at the Rüsselsheimer Dreieck (A60/A67). At the Darmstädter Kreuz, where the A5 and A67 intersect, the continuation of bridge work is planned.

In 2023, the West branch of Autobahn GmbH will invest a total of around 360 million euros in over 200 construction projects in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. 135 million euros will go into the expansion in Rhineland-Palatinate, and 45 million euros are planned for Saarland.
