Hesse: 3,500 households without hot water due to a burst pipe

Darmstadt (dpa/lhe) - In Darmstadt-Eberstadt, the heating and hot water failed in about a quarter of the households on Tuesday morning. About 5,000 people were cut off from district heating after a pipe burst in a high-rise building, according to the responsible energy supplier. Due to the drop in pressure and to protect the system, a nearby thermal power station automatically shut down operations. In the morning, the supply was restored in most of the houses. According to the information, the house affected by the pipe leak should be able to be supplied with district heating again in the afternoon.
