Hesse: 71-year-old after knife attack on wife in court

Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Because of a life-threatening knife attack on his wife, a 71-year-old pensioner from Bad Vilbel has to answer to the Frankfurt Regional Court from today (9.15 a.m.). The prosecution charges him with attempted manslaughter out of jealousy. The incident happened in September last year in the apartment shared with five grandchildren. The 64-year-old received several stitches in the lower abdomen and had to be operated on in the clinic. The five grandchildren had to witness the crime. The couple's daughter had already been killed by her husband in 2017 - the grandchildren have lived in the grandparents' apartment since then. The jury has scheduled several days of hearings through December.
