Kassel (dpa / lhe) - After an accident with a driverless car in Kassel, an injured 17-year-old is out of danger. The police announced on Friday. The woman was hit in the head by a falling traffic sign after the driverless car rolled backwards and crashed into the sign. An expert should now clarify how the accident happened on Wednesday.

According to initial findings by the police, the driver of the car parked the car on a slightly sloping site at the beginning of the pedestrian zone and got out when the empty vehicle started moving again. The critically injured 17-year-old had been sitting in front of a restaurant. A 16-year-old guest from Göttingen had also been injured in the head, but not as seriously.
