Hesse: AfD parliamentary group: lawsuit against political officials in the police force

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The AfD parliamentary group has filed a complaint with the Hessian state court against the use of political officials at the head of the State Criminal Police Office (LKA). The state government is receiving an unconstitutional influence, said AfD parliamentary group leader Robert Lambrou on Thursday in Wiesbaden. A norm control lawsuit already announced by the parliamentary group was filed with the state court in the morning.

Political officials could be placed on hiatus at any time, even without justification. This creates a special dependency on the political leadership, explained AfD MP Klaus Herrmann.

At the end of 2021, the state parliament decided that the LKA president should be a political official in the future. This status does not yet apply to the current incumbent Andreas Röhrig, but only to a successor. All heads of authorities at Hessian police headquarters, on the other hand, are already political officials, and this also applies to the president of the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution.
