Hesse: Alleged poisonous spider ensures that the supermarket is closed

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - A supposedly poisonous spider caused a supermarket in Frankfurt to be temporarily closed on Saturday. A customer had seen the spider in the fruit department, which prompted the police and fire brigade to call in, a police spokesman in Frankfurt said on Saturday. The initial suspicion that the spider could be a poisonous specimen could not be confirmed after closer inspection. The blocking at the request of the branch manager was then lifted, it said.
