Hesse: Animal diseases should be combated more quickly in Hesse

Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - Hessen wants to enable accelerated animal disease control. Environment Minister Priska Hinz (Greens) introduced a draft amendment to the law in the state parliament in Wiesbaden on Tuesday. "Especially with effective animal disease control, we need fast and smooth cooperation between the districts, but also with the responsible regional council and the state," she said.

The aim is that in the event of a cross-district animal disease outbreak, not every district has to decide on its own how to combat the disease. "In this way, we create the possibility for the specialist supervisory authorities to issue general decrees that apply to all groups," explained Hinz on the amendment to the law. A central organization ensures less friction losses.
