Hesse: Barbecue ban in Frankfurt Parks

"The lawns, trees and bushes on the public barbecue areas are extremely dry. Even with the greatest care, a spark can be enough to cause a fire," said Rosemarie Heilig (Greens), head of the environmental department, on Tuesday. The barbecue ban applies from this Wednesday and until further notice. The ban applies to both wood and charcoal grills as well as camping, gas and electric grills. The use of shishas that are operated with glowing coal is also prohibited. Since the Frankfurt cemeteries are also endangered, it is recommended not to light grave lights.
