Wiesbaden/Darmstadt (dpa/lhe) - The Hessian center for artificial intelligence (AI) "hessian.AI" is to become one of four nationwide AI service centers - and can therefore count on additional funding of around 17 million euros. This money from the federal government will strengthen Hesse as a location for AI research, said Science Minister Angela Dorn (Greens) on Wednesday in Wiesbaden.
The AI service centers are selected by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. They are intended to strengthen the European AI network through the long-term operation of computing infrastructures and services based on them. The cross-university Hessian center "hessian.AI" has its headquarters at the Technical University of Darmstadt. AI stands for "Artificial Intelligence".
