Offenbach (dpa/lhe) - People in Hesse can expect windy and cloudy weather at the start of the new week. According to the forecast, there will be individual gusts of wind of up to 60 kilometers per hour in the mountains on Monday night. On Monday it will rain at times with maximum temperatures of up to 13 degrees in the north and 16 degrees in the south, according to the German Weather Service in Offenbach. In the evening, the weather loosens up, especially in the south, before temperatures drop to up to 5 degrees on Tuesday night and fog forms locally.

After the fog patches clear up again on Tuesday, the day should be clear to cloudy with hardly any rain. From noon onwards, dense clouds will appear and the temperatures will rise to up to 16 degrees. Strong gusts blow in the mountains. On Wednesday night it will remain partly cloudy, while temperatures will drop to as low as 8 degrees. The cloudy weather will continue on Wednesday. Temperatures will rise up to 16 degrees with moderate south-west winds.
