Hesse: Corona mask requirement in buses and trains ends in Hesse

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - From this Thursday (February 2nd), the people of Hesse will no longer have to wear a mask to protect against infection with the corona virus on public buses and trains in local transport. Nationwide, there will also be no mask requirement on long-distance trains. The mask requirement on airplanes has been passé since autumn. The obligation to isolate people infected with the corona virus has already ended.

In Hessian clinics, nursing homes, medical practices and other healthcare facilities, on the other hand, it is still necessary to wear mouth and nose protection.

Social Affairs Minister Kai Klose (Greens) had recently appealed again to citizens to be vaccinated to protect themselves against the disease, despite falling corona numbers. There is hope that the number of infections will continue to fall. But if necessary, people should keep their distance and wear a mask if they feel unsafe.
