Hesse: daughter killed with sleeping pills: murder trial against mother

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - A young woman is said to have killed her little daughter with an overdose of sleeping pills and tranquilizers. Around a year and a quarter after the child's death, the trial against the 29-year-old starts on Friday (9.30 a.m.) in front of the Frankfurt Regional Court. The prosecution charges her with murder by treachery.

The 22-month-old child had died in December 2021 after drinking a sweet night milk in which the drug had been added. According to the findings of the investigators, the background was apparently the lively nature of the girl, who did not sleep peacefully at night, but walked around in the apartment in Frankfurt-Bonames. The jury initially scheduled five days of hearings until the end of March.
