Hesse: Doctors' protest: Many practices closed on Wednesday

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - As part of a nationwide protest campaign against planned austerity measures, numerous medical practices in Hesse will remain closed today. Due to overload, high energy costs and inflation rates, both clinics and practices are increasingly reaching their limits, the State Medical Association in Frankfurt announced. The doctors are demanding better professional conditions and complain about the planned cancellation of the new patient regulation, which gives doctors financial incentives to take on new patients. The health insurance companies are also being criticized for their demand for zero rounds in the next two years.
