Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The drinking water in parts of Wiesbaden has been treated with chlorine as a precaution since Wednesday. The reason for this is a microbiological finding, as the Wiesbaden water supply company (WLW) announced on Wednesday. The drinking water can be used as usual for drinking, cooking and washing. There could be temporary slight changes in the smell and taste of the drinking water, but these are harmless to health, it said. According to the WLW, the chlorine dosing is carried out according to strict specifications and is accompanied by close monitoring of the drinking water.
The low addition of chlorine affects the supply areas of the city center (northern area, higher areas around Lahnstraße), Platter Straße, Neroberg, Eigenheim up to Tennelbachstraße, southern and northern Nerotal, Adamstal, Restaurant Platte, Dambachtal and north-west of Sonnenberger Straße.
