Offenbach (dpa / lhe) - The people in Hesse have to arm themselves again against heavy rain and sometimes thunderstorms. For Thursday, the German Weather Service (DWD) warned for southern Hesse by noon of around 20 to 35 liters in just a few hours. Thunderstorms cannot be ruled out either. It will be variable to heavily cloudy. From Thursday afternoon it will be dry apart from a few rain showers. According to the DWD, the temperatures are between 17 and 20 degrees with a moderate wind that is also fresher in gusts and 15 degrees at high altitudes.

According to the DWD, the sky will remain cloudy to very cloudy on Friday. In some areas it can rain again - the DWD does not rule out sleet and thunderstorms either. The temperatures drop to 15 to 18 degrees and to 13 degrees at high altitudes. The wind will be moderate, but strong gusts can occur in the event of rain or thunderstorms. On Saturday it will be cloudy at first. There may be renewed rain showers in some areas and isolated brief thunderstorms. The rain in Hesse subsides on Saturday evening, the sky is at least partially loosening up. The thermometer shows 13 to 16 degrees and around 10 degrees at high altitudes. There is also a moderate wind, which can increase to strong gusts in the event of showers and thunderstorms, the DWD further announced.
