Hesse: Extreme weather: New project to prepare for an emergency

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Heat, heavy rain, snowstorm: With the new "Klimprax Crisis Preparation" project, the Hessian authorities and operators of critical infrastructure are to be better prepared for emergencies in extreme weather. Environment Minister Priska Hinz (Greens) and experts from the Hessian State Agency for Nature Conservation, Environment and Geology (HLNUG) want to present details on Wednesday (9:30 a.m.) in Wiesbaden. Among other things, this involves the question of whether rescue chains function smoothly.

"Klimprax" stands for "Climate Change in Practice". Critical infrastructure includes, among other things, the energy and food supply as well as the healthcare system. In the course of the project, a series of exercises on different crisis scenarios is planned. The Hessian Ministry of the Interior and the State Fire Brigade School are also on board.
