Hesse: Fire in the kitchen: Two seniors in the hospital

Roßdorf (dpa/lhe) - After a fire on Sunday in a house in Roßdorf near Darmstadt, the two residents aged 73 and 74 were taken to the hospital as a precaution. Police said there was a suspicion of smoke inhalation. According to preliminary investigations, the toaster in the kitchen caught fire due to a technical defect. The flames spread to the stove and hood. The residents could no longer delete them. They alerted the fire brigade, who quickly got the situation under control. The property damage was estimated at around 10,000 euros.
