Bad Sooden-Allendorf (dpa/lhe) - In the event of a fire in an apartment building in Bad Sooden-Allendorf (Werra-Meißner district), a water boiler exploded. Nobody was injured in the fire on Sunday evening, as the police in Eschwege announced on Monday. According to previous investigations, the fire started in a physiotherapy practice on the ground floor of the building and spread through lines to the apartment above. There it finally came to an explosion of a water boiler, it was said.
The house was therefore evacuated. According to previous knowledge, the fire was caused by a defective refrigerator in practice. The fire was reportedly quickly extinguished. The smoke caused property damage, which the police estimate at around 50,000 euros.
