Hesse: forest fire near Geisenheim

Geisenheim (dpa/lhe) - A fire broke out in a forest near Geisenheim in the Rheingau-Taunus district on Saturday afternoon. The fire brigade is around 10,000 square meters in size and is being fought by around 200 emergency services, said a fire department spokesman on Saturday afternoon. The fire is still spreading in some areas, but overall it is under control, it said. Since the area is uninhabited, there is no danger to people from the fire. The cause of the fire was initially unclear on Saturday.
