Hesse: Frankfurt's ex-mayor presents autobiography

Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - The deselected Mayor of Frankfurt, Peter Feldmann, will present his autobiography this Friday (10.30 a.m.). The book is entitled "Sozi. Jew. Oberbürgermeister" and will be published next week (December 14) by Nomen-Verlag in Frankfurt. According to the publisher, the 128-page book is primarily about his life before his time as mayor.

Feldmann is "searching for traces of his memories," the publisher announced in advance. He also gives information about his Jewish past for the first time. He writes about the Israeli kibbutz movement and about his father, who was trained as a resistance fighter in Sweden while fleeing the National Socialists.

The 64-year-old was voted out of office on November 6 after various scandals in a referendum. Feldmann has also been on trial since October 18. The public prosecutor accuses him of bribery. The verdict could be pronounced later this year.
