Viernheim (dpa / lhe) - A "schnapps pistol" triggered a police operation in Viernheim in southern Hesse. A man had shopped in a gas station on Thursday evening and placed the alleged silver gun next to a coffee machine. Employees of the gas station therefore alerted the police, as the police headquarters in southern Hesse announced on Friday. A patrol then temporarily arrested the 31-year-old nearby. Instead of a firearm, a kind of flask in the shape of a pistol appeared, which can be filled - there was a cork in the "barrel". Since a breath alcohol test showed 1.8 per mille, the man was taken to a police cell to sober up.
