Hesse: Grüttner returns to the state parliament as a successor

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The former Hessian Minister of Social Affairs, Stefan Grüttner (CDU), is returning to the state parliament in Wiesbaden as a member of parliament. The 66-year-old takes the place of former state parliament president Norbert Kartmann (CDU), who left parliament at the turn of the year. This was announced by the district chairman of the CDU Offenbach, Andreas Bruszynski, on Tuesday.

Grüttner was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1995 to 2019. From 2010 to 2019, the CDU politician was Minister of Social Affairs in the cabinet of Prime Minister Volker Bouffier (CDU). Grüttner lost his direct mandate in the 2018 state elections and became the second successor on the CDU state list. The first substitute applicant after Kartmann's departure had renounced the mandate for professional reasons.
