Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - After two months, around 19 percent of the declarations for property tax in Hesse have been submitted. As reported by the Oberfinanzdirektion on Thursday in Frankfurt, the tax offices have received the necessary data for almost 550,000 of the approximately 2.8 million properties. According to the Oberfinanzdirektion, Hessen has the best value nationwide. The tax authorities do not currently consider it necessary to extend the deadline.
From 2025, property tax in Germany is to be recalculated. As part of this reform, almost 36 million properties nationwide have to be revalued with the help of owner information. The deadline for submitting this data is October 31st.
