Hesse: Hanau investigative committee questioned BKA employees

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - In the committee of inquiry into the racially motivated murders in Hanau, an employee of the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) is to be questioned at 1 p.m. today. After the attack, he wrote the so-called final situation picture. He is to be questioned, among other things, about the involvement of the BKA and the cooperation of the security authorities. Two senior police directors from the police headquarters in Southeast Hesse, two senior public prosecutors and a federal prosecutor at the Federal Court of Justice have been invited as further witnesses for Monday.

On February 19, 2020, a 43-year-old German shot nine people with racist motives in the attack. He then killed his mother and then himself. The investigative committee should clarify whether there had been any errors by the authorities around the crime.
