Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - More than ten percent of the economic output in Hesse goes back to companies in the healthcare sector. Overall, the industry generated 32.3 billion euros in the country in 2021, as the State Statistical Office announced on Wednesday. This corresponds to 11.8 percent of the goods and services produced in Hesse without price adjustment.
Compared to the first Corona year 2020, the Hessian healthcare industry achieved growth of 5.3 percent - after a decline of 0.8 percent compared to the years 2020 and 2019. Last year, 465,800 people were employed in the Hessian healthcare industry, a good 9000 or two percent more than a year earlier.
