Hesse: House fire in East Hesse: Dryer suspected as the cause

Wildeck (dpa/lhe) - A house fire in East Hesse caused damage of up to 30,000 euros. According to the police, the cause of the fire on Tuesday in Wildeck (Hersfeld-Rotenburg district) was probably a defective tumble dryer on the ground floor. The device was switched on, but the residents were not in the house in the morning. A neighbor noticed smoke and called the fire department. The fire did not spread to any other rooms. Heavy smoke covered the entire house. The attentive neighbor also saved the homeowner's dog.
