Hesse: Human rights activist Elman honored with peace prize

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - The Somali human rights activist Ilwad Elman will be awarded the Hessian Peace Prize 2022 in Wiesbaden this Wednesday. The ceremony will be in the Hessian state parliament with the President of the State Parliament, Astrid Wallmann, and Prime Minister Boris Rhein (both CDU). The Hessian Peace Prize is endowed with 25,000 euros. Ilwad Elman receives the award for her commitment to peace, demilitarization and human rights in her East African homeland.
