Hesse: identity of fire victims not clarified beyond doubt

Kassel (dpa/lhe) - The victim of the deadly apartment fire in Kassel over the weekend has still not been identified beyond doubt. However, there is no evidence that it could be anyone other than the 44-year-old resident, a police spokesman said on Tuesday. A DNA comparison should now bring the last certainty. The cause of the fire in the apartment that broke out on Saturday afternoon is still unclear. According to the spokesman, no criminal offense is assumed. The police estimated the damage in the apartment building at around 50,000 euros. The body was autopsied on Tuesday.
