Hesse: In 2020, 767 same-sex couples will marry

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - In 2020, 767 same-sex couples got married in Hesse. This was announced by the State Statistical Office in Wiesbaden on Friday for Christopher Street Day (CSD) on Saturday (May 28). Accordingly, 370 female couples said yes and 397 male couples. The proportion of same-sex marriages in the total of almost 27,100 marriages was 1.4 percent (female) and 1.5 percent (male). The CSD is an international day of action against discrimination based on sexual orientation. In Wiesbaden, among other things, a parade and a summer party are planned for Saturday.
