Frankfurt (dpa/lhe) - What will tomorrow's cultural offerings in Frankfurt look like? Citizens can present their ideas at a series of open-air events. After the start last Sunday on the Museumsufer, "kep.lab" invites you to the Hauptwache on September 3rd and the Osthafenpark on September 4th. Visitors can find out about the current plans there and suggest their own wishes. There are also DJ sets and a gastronomic offer.
At the start last weekend, Ina Hartwig (SPD), head of the cultural department, was also there. She is happy about "the great interest of the citizens in the format with which we deliberately go into public space to talk to Frankfurters from all parts of our city society," she said. The aim is to shape the future of the cultural landscape together with the cultural actors, other experts and all interested citizens.
The "kep.lab" format is part of a multi-stage process that started in autumn 2021. With this, the city wants to set the course for the future development of culture in a two-year process. Hartwig explained that dialogue, participation and transparency were the guiding principles. "The strengthening of cultural participation is a central focus here." It is about "that we continue to open up the cultural offer for parts of our urban society that have not been reached or have only been reached to a limited extent". The first results are expected by the end of 2023.
