Hesse: Klose: A balanced mix of qualifications in nursing is important

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - Hessen wants to receive the training of nursing assistants as an independent professional profile for home and inpatient nursing. The state government's draft law is the next step towards generalist nursing assistant training, said Minister of Social Affairs Kai Klose (Greens) on Wednesday in the Hessian state parliament in Wiesbaden. This is intended to be in line with the geriatric care assistance training in close coordination with the training actors.

Permeable educational paths and good further training and advancement opportunities are important in order to increase the attractiveness of nursing professions, emphasized Klose. Against the background of the shortage of skilled workers, however, it is important to ensure a differentiated offer. This mix starts with caregivers and assistants, goes through certified nursing assistants and nursing specialists to specialist staff qualified at universities.
