Bad-Soden-Salmünster (dpa / lhe) - odyssey in the Main-Kinzig district: A 32-year-old driver caused a total of five accidents with eight demolished vehicles. It was still unclear how the accidents could have happened and why the man just kept driving, the police said on Friday. Accordingly, a 41-year-old passenger was slightly injured in one of the accidents on Thursday afternoon in a Hanau district. The officials estimated the total damage caused by the accident at around 30,000 euros.
It was not yet known whether the person who caused the accident was under the influence of alcohol or had taken drugs. A blood test is pending. The 32-year-old was stopped by the police and taken to a clinic because of "mental problems". Officials are now investigating suspected banned car racing and a series of hit-and-run accidents.
