Fulda (dpa/lhe) - While fleeing a police checkpoint, a driver in Fulda hit a pedestrian and seriously injured her. The man was first noticed by a patrol with his car on Friday, the public prosecutor's office and the police said on Friday in Fulda. When they wanted to check the car, the 21-year-old drove away, according to the information. Shortly thereafter, there was a collision with the 71-year-old pedestrian.
The police officers did not see the accident themselves because they were not directly behind the man's car, the prosecutor reported. But they were then able to arrest the slightly injured 21-year-old on site. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital. An expert is now to find out how the accident happened.
