Eschwege (dpa / lhe) - After a dispute at a Christmas party, a man in Eschwege in northern Hesse injured another with a machete. The 43-year-old suspect sat with his ex-partner and her daughter and her partner on Christmas Eve, the police in Eschwege said on Sunday. In the early morning of Christmas Day, the 43-year-old insulted the daughter and was expelled from the house. He went the short way to his apartment, a police spokesman reported.
In front of the door of this apartment, the daughter's 23-year-old partner tried to confront the man. The 43-year-old then opened the door briefly and hit the 23-year-old with a machete before closing the door again. According to the police, he injured his opponent in the hand. The 23-year-old was treated as an outpatient in a hospital. Criminal proceedings for dangerous bodily harm are now awaiting the attacker.
