Hesse: Many medical practices closed again on Wednesday in protest

Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - In Hesse, numerous medical practices will again be closed on Wednesday (November 30th). With the second day of protest within a few weeks, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KVH) wants to demonstrate "against the currently hostile and disrespectful policy towards outpatient care". It was only on October 26 that general practitioners, specialists and psychotherapists across the country vented their dissatisfaction with the planned austerity measures.

On Monday in Frankfurt, the KVH CEOs Frank Dastych and Eckhard Starke described the way the Federal Government and the Central Association of Statutory Health Insurance (GKV) dealt with the resident doctors as "disrespectful" and "unacceptable". The KVH demands, among other things, compensation for inflation-related price increases and full assumption of the increased energy costs by the GKV. The Medical Association advised patients to do their research before visiting a doctor on Wednesday.
