Hesse: Minister: Report on the evaluation of the right to award doctorates

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - In 2016, Hesse was the first federal state to enable its universities of applied sciences (HAW) to award doctorates in research-intensive disciplines - i.e. to give young scientists there the opportunity to acquire a doctorate. The right to award doctorates for these universities was evaluated by an independent commission. Science Minister Angela Dorn (Greens) wants to present the result on Monday in an online press conference (2 p.m.) together with the chairman of the commission, Matthias Kleiner, and the chairman of HAW Hessen, Frank Dievernich.
