Hesse: More than 1,600 Hessian schools connected to the high-speed network

Wiesbaden (dpa/lhe) - More than 1,600 Hessian schools now have a fast Internet connection. Digital Minister Kristina Sinemus (CDU) announced on Wednesday in Wiesbaden that 81 percent of the approximately 2,000 schools in the state are gigabit-capable. "We will achieve our goal of connecting almost all public schools to the internet by the end of 2022."

The digitization of rural regions is a focus of the Hessian digital strategy. "Therefore, we have increased the pace in schools in rural areas in particular and have now more than tripled the number of gigabit-capable schools compared to 2019," said the minister.
