Hesse: More women in the Hessian hunting association

Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - In Hesse there are more and more female hunters. The proportion of women is currently almost twelve percent and has risen steadily in recent years, said the spokesman for the state hunting association, Markus Stifter, the German Press Agency in Wiesbaden. The proportion of women in the courses for hunter training is around 25 percent, and there are often young participants among them. Nationwide, the proportion of female hunters is 11 percent.

The State Hunting Association based in Bad Nauheim is an association of 53 Hessian hunting clubs. The association represents the interests of around 20,000 Hessian hunters. The number of members will be maintained, and there have always been slight increases in recent years, said the spokesman. The member associations of the Hessian umbrella organization in northern and central Hesse are particularly strong.

The State Hunting Association is responsible for looking after and advising its members, for training and further education, and for projects to protect and conserve wild animals and their habitats.
